Abstract:

This is a panel discussion from several respected CEOs in the area.  They have led significant organizations through the start-up phases.  They will discuss the good, the bad, and the improvements based on their experiences.  A question and answer session will occur after the discussion.

Biographies:

Sue Dark,

Founder and Chief Executive Officer DeepNines

As founder and CEO, Sue Dark's innovative software designs and significant knowledge in start-up ventures ensure that DeepNines security technology will remain the most aggressive in the industry. Under Ms. Dark’s leadership, DeepNines has produced proactive security solutions that advance the ability of corporations, government agencies and educational institutions to conduct business in a more secure environment. Ms. Dark brings more than 25 years of technology development experience to DeepNines.

Prior to founding DeepNines, Ms. Dark was a seminal member of Memorex, where she worked with clients such as New England Telephone, ITT Sheraton, IDC and the MIT Artificial Intelligence Lab. Her background also includes participation with the instrumentation development team for the Apollo 11 and 12 groups at MIT-Lincoln Laboratories/USAF.

Ms. Dark currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AeA Texas Council and is a member of the National Board of AeA and the AeA Executive Committee. The AeA has been the voice of the U.S. technology industry since 1946 and today has more than 3,000 members. Ms. Dark also serves on the Greater Dallas Chamber’s Technology Business Council, which provides oversight of both policies and programs for the Technology Business Development Department of the Chamber and reports to the Board of Directors.

George Brody
Founder & Chief Technology Officer

George Brody brings more than 26 years of high technology experience to GlobeRanger. Prior to co-founding GlobeRanger, he was vice president and general manager of Nortel's Wireless Network Solutions. He has extensive experience in the management of digital technology for mobile communications systems. Brody was Chief Executive Officer and President of GlobeRanger from its inception until he assumed his current position in January 2002

Ken Lewis, Chiaro Networks

President & CEO

At Chiaro, Mr. Lewis led a highly skilled team that successfully brought to market a scalable, very reliable core routing platform.  The team achieved several industry firsts including:  first router utilizing an optical switch fabric, first truly multi-chassis router, and first router providing fully stateful routing protocol protection.  Prior to Chiaro, Mr. Lewis served in a variety of progressive management roles over a 20-year period at Alcatel USA , including senior vice-president of the Transmission Products division. In this role Mr. Lewis was responsible for the transmission product line of the merged Alcatel Network Systems and DSC businesses.  Earlier, Mr. Lewis also held management positions in product planning, product line management and strategic planning at Alcatel. He also founded and served as president of LighTech, a company which provided technical seminars and consulting services to Fortune 500 companies.  Mr. Lewis holds a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas . He received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2000 and serves on their School of Management Advisory Council .
