Chapter Secretary

The Chapter Secretary is a central team member of the organization and is involved at the highest levels of discussion, planning and strategy. The goal of the Secretary is to maintain the corporate memory and history of the local chapter. The role is responsible for keeping minutes and records of the activities of the Chapter Executive Committee (CEC) and other committees as necessary. The Chapter Secretary is also responsible for submitting such information and reports to the Chapter Executive Committee. Initial activities of this role include:

  • Attending all Chapter Executive Meetings and chapter events
  • Participating in discussions, planning and strategy as interested
  • Maintaining records of events and minutes of meetings
  • Submitting reports to the Chapter Executive Committee on an ad hoc basis
  • Takes minutes and maintains records of all meetings
  • Files copies of meeting minutes with the Enterprise Forum Global Office
  • Maintains local Chapter copy of Corporate Minute/Records Book in coordination with the Enterprise Forum Global Office
  • Notifies Enterprise Forum Global Office promptly of any and all legal notices or governmental inquiries
  • Keeps records of alumni/ae and non alumni, as well as Chapter members and constituents

Marketing & Membership Committee Member (eMarketing)

The eMarketing Committee Member (reporting to the Marketing and Membership Chair) helps extend the chapter’s reach into the local entrepreneurial community through the growth, enhancement and targeting of the emailing list. The goal of the eMarketing volunteer is to mine the data of the chapter’s constituent list and focus and/or extend the list to optimally connect to the leaders of the local entrepreneur community. This person is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the database, as well as helping identify methods and sources for expanding the list to the target market of the organization. Initial activities of this role include:

  • Review and maintenance of current online address list
  • Identification of online target market generation methods and sources
  • Working with the Web Coordinator to identify and remove inactive members from the list
  • Working with the Vice Chair of Marketing to develop invitation or welcoming letters to email to online prospects and community leaders.
  • Works with Marketing and Membership Committee Chair to set standards for chapter communication pieces in accordance with chapter guidelines
  • Develops mailing schedule in conjunction with the Marketing & Membership Committee

Marketing & Membership Committee Member (Public Relations)

The Public Relations Committee Member (reporting to the Marketing and Membership Chair) is a key contributor to the market awareness and community impact of the local chapter. The goal of the PR volunteer is to share the mission, vision and activities of the local chapter with the local community organizations, planners and communicators. This person is responsible for working with the Marketing and Membership Committee to execute all activities surrounding membership growth and sustainability and communicating the events and schedules with the local community. A Program Flight Plan has been developed as a time-line of activities to organize and execute an event. The PR Committee member is also responsible for executing the Flight Plan activities associated with public awareness. The initial activities include:

  • Review and enhance the Program Flight Plan
  • Identify and liaise with community organizations that have members in the local chapter's target market
  • Establishing alliances and relationships with the Press and ensuring they are invited to all events
  • Working closely with the eMarketing Committee Member to ensure that all online PR opportunities are maximized following up to an event
  • Create and distribute press releases to community partners
  • Distribute event information to planners, communicators and community schedules

Sponsorship Committee Chair

The Sponsorship Committee Chair is the ambassador to one side of the chapter's strategic triangle: Sponsors, Members, Volunteers. The goal of the sponsorship volunteer is to align the value proposition of the local chapter with the needs of the sponsors creating a win-win for success in the chapter's educational mission. The Sponsorship Committee Chair reports to the Chapter Chair and is responsible for ensuring that a clearly articulated sponsorship benefits package is available for online access, maintaining and updating the sponsorship benefits presentation, articulating the benefits of sponsorship to the Chapter Executive Committee, developing relationships and ensuring retention and renewal of all sponsors. The Sponsorship Committee Chair is also responsible for working with the Chapter Executive Committee to develop and execute the ongoing sponsorship lead identification and pitch program. The initial activities include:

  • Review and enhancement of the sponsorship benefits presentation
  • Work with other Chapter Executive Committee members in aligning value proposition with sponsor's needs
  • Meet with existing and candidate sponsors to share value proposition
  • Identify volunteer opportunities for sponsor members
  • Establishes goals for number of sponsors and dollar amount chapters need
  • Works closely with Vice Chair of Programs to establish event budget
  • Creates sponsor subcommittees as needed
  • Convenes, sets agenda and presides over sponsorship committee meetings.

Program Committee Member (multiple positions available)

Program Committee Members enjoy a hands-on view of the events and get the opportunity to interact with the event speakers at a personal level. The goal of this committee member is to facilitate the programs through coordination of event moderators, chapter volunteers and event speakers. This role reports to the Vice Chair of Programs, is mentored in the process of event planning, and is responsible for the planning and execution of an event or a select number of events. Ideally, Program Committee Members need to be in the know on cutting edge technologies and new companies, have contacts to potentially good speakers and moderators, and be able to brainstorm with the program committee team in a team environment. Some of the activities of the program committee include:

  • Reviewing and learning the Program Flight Plan
  • Identifying one or a few programs of interest with the Program Vice Chair
  • Contacting the moderator, speaker and panelists
  • Coordination of the planning events of the program
  • Participating in dry run events and
  • Coordinating the evening of the event
  • Follow up, metrics reporting and online surveys

Volunteer Committee Chair

The Volunteer Committee Chair is responsible for all activities and functions around volunteer development, management, training, retention and succession planning. Activities and efforts may include the development of a welcome and orientation pack, introduction to the members of the team, coordinating point for new volunteers and provides the opportunity to meet other entrepreneurs and members with similar interests. The goal of the Volunteer Committee Chair is to enable and integrate new volunteers into the local chapter team. This role reports to the Chapter Chair and is responsible for meeting with each new volunteer candidate, coordinating with the associated committee members, and ensuring a specific list of activities and responsibilities for the new volunteer is created by the associated committee members. The activities include:

  • Working with executive committee members to develop a volunteer welcoming package
  • Attending events, meet members and attendees
  • Liaison between new volunteers and committee members to identify tasks and activities
