Coming Event: "SBIR Workshop"

Date: Saturday, 27 March, 2010, 9:30pm-3:30pm

Price: $25, lunch included

Come join the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the MIT Enterprise Forum for the sequel to our 2009 "SBIR Workshop".

By now, most budding entrepreneurs have heard of the Small Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR). Many seminars and programs are about what the SBIR program is, but very few focus on how to win, run, and leverage SBIR contracts and grants. This workshop will help you get SBIR funding and develop a plan for all Phases of your project.

The Workshop will be presented by Dr. Nick Lawrence, who has personally written, won, and conducted nearly a score of SBIR Phase I and Phase II projects. He holds many patents and has started seven companies.

The Workshop will include:

  1. Material on both contracts and grants
  2. How to pick your proposal topic
  3. How to design and write your proposal
  4. How to write your cost proposal and abstract
  5. How to submit your proposal
  6. What happens when you win
  7. How to run your Phase I project
  8. Your best strategies for Phase II and Phase III
