Profile
Mr. d'Arbeloff's presentation will focus on the trends that he has observed and the
issuesthat will be dominant for high-technology entrepreneurs in the furure. He
willcombine the vision of a seasoned entrepreneur with the perspective of today's
graduates, and demonstrate that both need the right focus to sustain a business or launch
a new business. Professor Roberts will make opening remarks and moderate an interactive
discussion with audiences on MIT's campus, and ta downlink sitses such as the University
of Texas at Dallas.
Alex d'Arbeloff was names Chairman of the MIT Corporation in July 1997. He has been a
member of the coorporation since 1989 and has served on MIT's Corporation Development
Committee and on a variety of visiting committees. Mr. d'Arbeloff has taught classes at
MIT's Sloan School of Management, and currently teaches a course he developed on
management ant entrepreneurship for mechanical engineering graduate students at MIT. He
received the SB in Management from MIT in 1949.
The moderator, Professor Ed Roberts is internationally known for his research and
teaching, and active involvement in technology management. He is co-founder and board
member of many new technology enterprises and has authored over 130 articles and 11 books.
