Panel Overview:
"Technotainment in the Post-Napster Era," a program exploring the
convergence of technology and entertainment, will feature a star-studded panel
that will focus on the challenges of generating and delivering entertainment via
high-technology channels, such as the Internet. Although the Internet is
one of the few profitable and growing sectors, it will be only one of the
technologies discussed. The program schedule includes a 5:00 p.m. wine and
buffet reception, and the program from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. The MIT Forum is open
to the public and is supported by leading business organizations through
sponsorships. . The panel will address Internet entertainment content and
delivery and how to deal with legal, technical, and content challenges while
taking advantage of opportunities for profit.
