Company Press Release

PFSweb CEO Layton to Lead MIT Forum On E-commerce

Panel to Address Challenges, Opportunities of Internet Commerce

PLANO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 2000--Mark C. Layton, president and CEO of PFSweb, Inc. (Nasdaq:PFSW - news), will address The MIT Enterprise Forum of Dallas-Fort Worth, Inc. on Feb. 11 at the University of Texas at Dallas Conference Center in Richardson.

The program will begin with breakfast at 7:00 a.m., and the presentation from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. Reservations and information are available at 972/517-7887, mitforum@juno.com or www.mitforum.com.

Layton, who last year published the book ``.coms or .bombs . . . Strategies for Profit in e-Business,'' www.profits-in-ebusiness.com, will be joined by a panel of local experts following his presentation. The moderator will be Jack Kearney, vice president of corporate development for PFSweb's parent company, Daisytek International Corporation (Nasdaq:DZTK - news), which Layton also heads. Panelists will include e-commerce experts Ron Goddard, vice president of strategic planning, Neiman Marcus (NYSE:NMG/A, NMG/B); and Mark Lynd, president and founder of Vectrix.com.

An e-commerce pioneer, Layton positioned Daisytek for e-commerce success in the mid-1990s. As president and CEO he knew Daisytek needed to be at the cutting edge of the e-revolution. That's when the transaction management logistics business unit, PFSweb, was formed to take successful e-commerce concepts and turn them into viable business operations.

``We wanted to be sure e-businesses understood they needed to have everything from e-soup to e-nuts,'' Layton said. ``The e-businesses that pay attention to the details and offer superior service throughout the customer's total e-experience will be poised to be the profitable e-business winners.''

Now, Layton is dedicating his expertise to PFSweb as it separates from Daisytek and as it increases its capabilities to provide order fulfillment, distribution and other services on behalf of both e-commerce and traditional commerce companies. PFSweb does it all, ``from the click of the mouse to the knock at the house.''(SM) PFSweb completed an IPO in December 1999.
